Join us for an open conversation with Jay Pitter, the award-winning placemaker whose practice mitigates growing divides in cities across North America. Pitter spearheads institutional city-building projects specializing in public space design and policy, forgotten densities, mobility equity, gender-responsive design, inclusive public engagement and healing fraught sites.

Jay Pitter is currently the Planner-in-Residence in the School of Planning. She will start the event with an overview of her practice, followed by questions from student leaders about equity in planning education and practice. Most of the session will then focus on audience-driven questions for Jay in an open conversation. Participants are encouraged to bring their questions and curiosity.

What distinguishes Pitter is her multidisciplinary approach, located at the nexus of urban design and social equity, which translates community insights and aspirations into the built environment. She has used this urgent, evidence-based expertise to shape numerous projects in over 25 cities, including Vancouver, Toronto, and Lexington (USA)

This event is open to the public, but registration is required. Registration is now closed. Thank you for your interest.
