My current research critically explores the relationships between First Nations and the planning consultants they hire to support various planning needs.

Joelle is a third year PhD candidate with expertise in planning with Indigenous peoples and private planning practice. With master's degrees in both Sociology and Planning and hands-on experience in social services, Joelle investigates and teaches about how planning influences relationships between people and their connection to the land they inhabit.
