As previous analysts on the Student Venture Fund and AFM 433: Business Strategy, enthusiasts, we had always been interested in analyzing companies and thinking of strategic possibilities for them. This drew us to the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.), where we became finalists in the business policy event.
In January, we participated in the Inter-Collegiate Business Competition (I.C.B.C.) in the ethics stream. I.C.B.C. is one of the most academically rigorous undergraduate case competitions in the world, and this was our experience participating in the competition.
Greetings future Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) students! My name is Aradhna, and I am in my third year of AFM, specializing in the Professional Accountant Career Specialization. I know you may or may not be feeling terrified coming in as a first-year student at the University of Waterloo.
A very big thank you to everyone who came to enjoy chilli, a candy bar, midterm survival kits, and tons of board games at Games and Sweets Night. It was a pleasure to see you all having so much fun! A special thanks to CFM Program Manager Kim Tremblay as well.
The event began with a delicious dinner of chilli and warm bread rolls catered by Jacqueline’s Catering. The bread rolls were a hit for sure!

As I am writing this, I’m getting flashbacks to when I was in grade 12. I remember the nerves of applying to university kicking in. Having this feeling of either it’s now or never and thinking to myself how am I going to do this? It was hard. I was stressing a lot.
Applying to university is a big decision in one’s life! As a prospective student, it can become extremely overwhelming when deciding what you want your future to look like, along with researching the various programs and their benefits.

This is Matt from the management team of the AFM 334: Winter 2023 Singapore International Study Trip. Today, I would love to tell you more about my role on the management team and give you a little bit of insight into the extensive student-led planning that goes into organizing an educational, productive, and most importantly fun overseas experience.
Welcome to the Winter 2023 trip to Singapore! This term, our class has been divided into four teams; corporate relations, meals and logistics, management, and marketing and culture. We are the corporate relations team, coming to you from the International Study Trip classroom! Our team consists of Alan, Aryaman, Ryan, and Vireshaar. If you have ever been unsure of what course to take, then you aren’t alone! At first, I was unsure about what courses to enroll in, but I decided to go for the Internal Audit course (SAF 415), as I had no prior knowledge of the subject, and I wanted to learn about audit from a new perspective.
