First SFM cohort paves the way for the future of sustainable business

Thursday, June 18, 2026

Just a few short years ago in 2021, 12 students took a chance on a brand-new program, and this upcoming June 18 they will cross the convocation stage as the first-ever graduates of the Sustainability and Financial Management (SFM) program

The first-of-its-kind program, created in partnership between the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) and the School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED), brings together experts in accounting, finance and sustainable business leadership to address the growing demand for professionals who can navigate the financial landscape with a sustainability mindset.

Now, each of the 12 graduates is set to take their next steps. Some are continuing into SAF’s Master of Accounting (MAcc) program, while others are heading into full-time roles, most of which are directly at the intersection of finance and sustainability.

As the program’s first cohort, they are graduating not only with a unique skillset, but as early evidence of what is possible with a cross-disciplinary approach.
