Reception

The Fusion Conference, operating since 2004, is a conference hosted at the University of Waterloo that merges knowledge from science, business, and technology fields through a unique theme each year. The theme of the 2023 Fusion Conference is "20 Years of Innovation: A Look Back and a Leap Forward", inviting students to explore the changes and challenges of technology and craft innovative solutions for a sustainable future. Registration is first-come and first-served depending on interest of case competition participation - registrants will be placed on a waitlist if the building capacity is exceeded.

This year's Conference will be held on November 16th, 2024 at Federation Hall, University of Waterloo.

We are excited to announce Philippe Van Cappellen is one of three honourees from the University of Waterloo to receive a King Charles III Coronation Medal. Universities Canada cordially invites you to a virtual event and celebrate his special recognition.

CGSS and FemPhys are joining forces to host IUPAC Glabal Women's Breakfast: Accelerating Equity in Science. Come join us for breakfast and a thoughtful panel discussion lead by female faculty members on their experiences in STEM and how to create a welcoming environment for all. 

In conjunction with the annual meeting of the CSC, the Faculty of Science and the Department of Chemistry will be hosting a cocktail reception at the Delta Winnipeg and invite all science alumni in the area to attend.

The Faculty of Science, alongside the Faculties of Engineering and Mathematics, are delighted to host an alumni reception in Seattle in October. At this games night and social, you will enjoy great food and a selection of over 30 craft beers on tap as well as fun games (unlimited mini golf and duffleboard) while you catch up with your University of Waterloo classmates from Science, Math and Engineering.

Dr. Chris Houser, Dean of Science, and Dr. Mary Wells, Dean of Engineering, will be at the event to connect with you and share the latest news from the University of Waterloo community.

The Faculty of Science invites alumni to cheer on the Toronto Blue Jays as they take on the St. Louis Cardinals on September 13. Tickets include a ticket to the game in section 517 and a limited edition Blue Jays and University of Waterloo co-branded tumbler.
