Award description: 

Several scholarships, valued at up to $1,000 each, are awarded annually to undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program in the Faculty of Arts who have been away from formal education for a number of years. Selection is based on academic excellence; an application is not required. These awards honour Isobel Mackay, in recognition of her tireless commitment to the needs of mature students and to this fund. Mackay served as academic advisor for mature students in the Faculty of Arts for many years. This endowment fund is generously supported by friends of the former Mature Student Services Office, including Isobel Mackay, by gifts from members of the University community and beyond, as well as memorial donations from Lucy Pickard in memory of her sisters Bette Lock and Katie Codd.
