Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is facilitating an open work permit extension for eligible workers who can opt-in to extend their work permit.

This may be of interest for students who have a spouse in Canada who meet the eligibility criteria above.
Individuals may qualify for a special measure that makes it easier and faster for to get an extension to their existing open work permit. IRCC will email eligible individuals an invitation to opt in to this process.
The opt-in period is between June 7, 2023 and June 28, 2023. Please visit the IRCC website for complete instructions on how to opt in.
