As an international student in Canada, to stay in compliance with your study permit conditions, you must actively pursue studies. Non-compliance can result in negative consequences imposed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
If you need to take one or more terms off, IRCC requires that you include documentation providing the leave was authorized by the institution for an immigration application.
