IRCC requires multi-factor authentication for user accounts

Sunday, July 30, 2023

Starting July 31, 2023, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will require multi-factor authentication for users logging into their accounts through GCKey.

This means that users will need to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) when using the GCKey to create an account or to sign in to an existing account. For more information on the 2FA requirements for IRCC user accounts, please visit IRCC's website.

If you have any questions about your immigration documents or need assistance for an application review, please contact UWaterloo’s Immigration consulting team.
