For a complete list of scholarships available to students in specific Applied Health Sciences (AHS) programs, visit the Student Awards and Financial Aid Scholarships page.
A bursary is similar to scholarships in that you are not required to repay it, but it's awarded primarily on financial need rather than academic achievement.
Find out what bursaries you may be eligible for on the Student Awards and Financial Aid Bursaries page.
Applied Health Sciences Endowment Fund (AHSEF)
The Applied Health Sciences Endowment Fund (AHSEF) was established as a student-based financial support system created to enhance the academic environment of all undergraduates in the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences.
Each undergraduate student registered in AHS contributes to the fund, as a donation to the University of Waterloo through AHSEF. The money is a voluntary contribution used to support student-initiated projects with an academic and student life focus
Hallman Undergraduate Research Fellowship
The Hallman Undergraduate Research Fellowship supports undergraduate students who wish to participate in research projects under the supervision of Faculty of Applied Health Sciences researchers working on health promotion issues. The proposals must be submitted by the AHS faculty member who would be supervising the student. Availability is dependent on the income generated by the Hallman Endowment Fund and the suitability of the proposals submitted.
RBC Undergraduate Research Fellowship
The RBC Undergraduate Research Fellowship supports undergraduate students who wish to participate in research projects about issues related to retirement and aging under the supervision of a University of Waterloo faculty member. The proposals must be submitted by the faculty member who would be supervising the student. Availability is dependent on the RBC funding cycle and on the suitability of the proposals submitted.
Undergraduate Research Experiential Fund
The Undergraduate Research Experiential Fund (REF) is available to students who are travelling in connection with a University of Waterloo research activity. The fund provides financial support for undergraduate students in AHS to promote communication of their research experiences, at conferences, workshops or other research events.
