The Dark Getting You Down? Sign-out one of the FoE Light Therapy Lamps!

Wednesday, January 24, 2024

The transition from summer sunshine to the chilly months of Fall and Winter can sometimes bring a cloud of gloom. Seasonal Affective Disorder, a type of mild depression or reduction in energy, is caused by a reduction of exposure to sunlight. That's why we're thrilled to announce that the Faculty of Engineering now has Light Therapy (SAD) lamps available for sign-out!

Light therapy lamps, sometimes referred to as SAD lights, are special lights that mimic natural sunlight and help alleviate symptoms. Light therapy lamps have been shown to improve sleep, energy, focus, reduce seasonal depression and more! Find ways to increase your time outside. Instead of taking the tunnels between buildings, throw on your coat and walk outside. If you are not able to increase your exposure to natural sunlight, guess what the next best option is? Yep! Sign-out one of the FoE Light Therapy Lamps
