In a bid to help homeowners cope with increased flooding due to climate change, The Faculty of Environment, Province of Ontario and City of Burlington announced are launching the Home Flood Protection Program.

Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation researcher Blair Feltmate tells the CBC that wetlands are crucial to reducing flooding and prevent millions of dollars in flooding damage. This is among the first studies of its kind that quantifies the financial benefits of wetlands.
