University of Waterloo's Spring Convocation ceremony for the Faculty of Health takes place Tuesday, June 11 at 2:30 p.m. (procession starts at 2:10 p.m.) in the Physical Activities Complex (PAC).
Highlights
- Canadian icon Rick Hansen, C.C., O.B.C., to receive an Honorary Doctorate from the Faculty of Health
- Margaret Burnett and Tina Roberts to be recognized as Honorary Members of the University
- Claudia Heeney (KHS) to receive the President's Award of Excellence, awarded to the top graduating student in the Faculty of Health, based on highest GPA
- Simon Friesen (KHS) to receive the Alumni Gold Medal, awarded to the next top graduating student in the Faculty of Health
- Emma Juracic (KHS) to receive the Governor General's Gold Medal for the highest standing in a doctoral program
- Chloe Eve McLeod (KHS) to be named Governor General's Gold Medal finalist in a master's program
- Claudia Heeney (KHS), Kaitlin Muzio (SPHS) and Nathan Boctor (RLS) to receive the Highest Academic Achievement Award in their departments
- Drs. Rhona Hanning and Ron McCarville to receive the designation of Distinguished Professor Emeritus
- Katie Szajbely (SPHS) to speak as the Class of 2024 valedictorian

Post-convocation reception
Graduates: Come celebrate your status as a Waterloo alumnus at the official convocation reception on the B.C. Matthews Hall (BMH) Green following the ceremony.
Graduates and their guests are invited to celebrate with classmates, professors and staff who supported them through their Waterloo student experience. Commemorate the occasion with photo opportunities, grad gifts, degree frames and refreshments. No reservations required.
