The neoliberal movement is broad and impacts on the global to local context within in an education system and university research and innovation environment. One unintended consequence of the neoliberal movement and logic which impacts on university life is how it changes research practice and the resulting creativity and innovation.

Rush, as they offer congratulations, celebrate your achievements and share inspiring words of advice as you get ready to cross the stage at convocation.
The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences' (AHS) 50th Anniversary Celebration marks the beginning of our celebratory year. AHS students, faculty, staff, alumni and donors are invited to join us for lunch followed by celebratory remarks and a public lecture featuring Honourable A. Anne McLellan, P.C., O.C., A.O.E.
Applied Health Sciences (AHS) will be undertaking a special legacy project to commemorate the Faculty's 50th Anniversary and we need your input! Now that the AHS Expansion Building is complete, we will be giving the outdoor courtyard bordered by the AHS buildings a special anniversary makeover.
Hosted by the University's Network for Aging Research (NAR), the symposium is open to all who are interested in aging research including UWaterloo faculty, staff and students; seniors; community members; policymakers and other relevant stakeholders. Featuring keynote by 80 year old PhD student, Olive Bryanton, the event also includes discussion of innovation, and priority setting for aging research conducted at the University of Waterloo.
Join us at the University of Waterloo Canada Day Celebration for our 50th anniversary booth. The booth will feature fun giveaways, experiential learning activities and games such as a Brain Hat colouring exercise, and more.
The Hallman Lecture Series presents John Frank, Director of the Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy for a discussion of the notions of “upstream” and “downstream” prevention in public health practice, examples and their respective pros and cons. Panel and reception to follow.
Dr. Patrick Brill-Edwards, recipient of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences' 2017 Alumni Achievement Award, will discuss aspects of the initial development of Gardasil – the vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) – and the on-going tension between the science and the pseudo-science of its implementation.
Mike Salvaris, Director of the Australian National Development Index, will discuss defining social progress "beyond GDP" and feature Australian initiatives informed by the Canadian Index of Wellbeing based at University of Waterloo.
