Digital screens

Digital screens are another way to raise awareness for events, courses, resources, services and other initiatives you'd like to share with the Faculty of Health community, and direct readers to other channels where they can learn more.

Guidelines

  • The primary audience for our screen is students. If the content is only for faculty and staff, we can share on other channels.
  • Slides typically display for 10–15 seconds. Think of this content like a billboard: something eye-catching that people can read and understand at a glance.
  • Make text large and use as few words as possible while making it clear what is being promoted, when and where.
  • Use a QR code to point to an online source for further details if needed. If you must use a URL, keep it short.
  • Use meaningful images that you own (are copyright-free or purchased). Ensure their resolution is adequate for a large screen.
  • Use sufficient colour contrast so that the text is easy to read. A semi-transparent gradient behind text or a text box can help.
  • Need to use official fonts and colours? See How to express our brand on the University's Brand website.

Permissible content:

  • Faculty of Health events, opportunities and notices
  • On-campus events, opportunities and notices that may be of benefit to Health students
  • Slides that showcase who we are as a Faculty: e.g., values, testimonials

Non-permissible content:

  • Content that supports illegal or hateful activity
  • Content that is contrary to our values and strategic priorities
  • Content from commercial sources
  • External events and notices (unless there is a direct Faculty connection)
  • Non-Faculty of Health course or program information

How to create a slide

  • If the item is an official Faculty of Health event or notice, download and use a slide from the Faculty of Health-branded slide template (POTX). Replace the placeholder image in the templates with a meaningful image.
  • You may also use a Canva or other template with a 16:9 aspect ratio: 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high, or 1280 pixels wide by 720 high.
  • Save/export the slide as jpg or png and upload it using the "Submit a slide" form on this page.
