Servant leadership: Reflections and lessons learned from 49 years of service to Canada

Judge Albert Wong has dedicated over 49 years to public service, including peacekeeping roles in Afghanistan and Africa. As a Citizenship Judge since 2014, he has helped integrate over 300,000 new Canadians and advocates for inclusive immigration policies. Judge Wong is also an active volunteer, promoting unity and social cohesion within Asian Canadian communities, and believes in the power of collaboration to build a stronger, more inclusive Canada.

Hallman Lecture: Creating sustainable working conditions

International scholar, Dr. Jodi Oakman, will explore interactions between work and health, starting from the premise that good work has beneficial health outcomes and supports productivity. Drawing on contemporary and emerging research, the presentation will examine the requirements for healthy work environments to support the creation of sustainable working conditions to promote long working lives.

Gairdner Lecture: Acting Early: From Developmental Science to Scalable Prevention

Vikram Patel is a recipient of the 2019 John Dirks Canada Gairdner Global Health Award for his world-leading research in global mental health, generating knowledge on the burden and determinants of mental health problems in low- and middle-income countries and pioneering approaches for the prevention and treatment of mental health in low-resource settings.
