2024 Faculty of Health Graduate Mentorship Award recipients announced

Congratulations to the 2024 Faculty of Health Graduate Mentorship Award recipients:

  • Dr. Ellen MacEachen (School of Public Health Sciences), recipient of the Senior Graduate Mentorship Award; and
  • Dr. Bryan Grimwood (Recreation and Leisure Studies), recipient of the Mid-career Graduate Mentorship Award

This year’s finalists were all exceptional mentors who have made a profound impact on the academic careers and lives of their students. Thank you to the 30+ grad students and associate chairs/directors who submitted letters of support and to the adjudication committee for their diligent work in reviewing them.

The Graduate Mentorship Awards are presented annually to honour faculty members who have made a meaningful impact through the mentorship of graduate students. Award criteria include fostering students’ skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, self-directed learning and communication, commitment to students’ personal and professional development, effective research planning, and providing a supportive environment that stimulates creativity, debate, engagement and progression toward career goals.

The next call for nominations for the Faculty of Health Graduate Mentorship Award will happen in Spring 2025.
