Professor Richard Wells was named a Fellow of the International Ergonomics Association (IEA) at the annual National Council Meeting in Singapore last week.
Professor Wells served as the founding director of the Centre of Research Expertise for the Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders (CRE-MSD) at Waterloo for over a decade. His research preventing injuries at work spans 25 years and includes involvement in the development of guidelines and standards.
The IEA is an international organization that works to advance ergonomics science and expand its scope of application and contribution to society to improve the quality of life. Fellows of the IEA have demonstrated extensive publication records in international journals and/or service to United Nations organizations.
