The Faculty will foster teaching and learning opportunities and relationships that inspire diverse learners to address complex health problems.

Goal 1: Advance undergraduate and graduate experiential learning opportunities

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Identify and support opportunities for experiential learning
  • Collaborate with campus, industry, alumni and community partners to advance experiential learning
  • Invest in resources to build experiential learning
  • Ensure that learning environments are supported by best practices for student education
  • Increase the number of meaningful co-op opportunities

Goal 2: Prioritize health and well-being in lifelong learning for all

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Develop and promote accessible lifelong learning opportunities for everyone, including alumni, partners, professionals, faculty and staff

Goal 3: Reward excellence, creativity and innovation in teaching and mentorship

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Incentivize training and support instructors in the application of diverse teaching and assessment strategies
  • Develop and implement methods for recognition for exceptional teaching practice

Goal 4: Encourage collaborative learning experiences across academic units, within and beyond the Faculty, across disciplines and with global partners

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Develop mechanisms to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and learning
  • Encourage efficiencies in course delivery and costs across the Faculty and the University
  • Provide more opportunities for students to gain research experience
  • Make more courses accessible to students across campus

Goal 5: Foster a learning environment that welcomes and supports international students

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Create opportunities to build a sense of community and foster support for the Faculty’s International students
  • Ensure an inclusive curriculum design that reflects diverse examples

Goal 6: Shape talent to respond to society’s needs and become the thought leaders of tomorrow

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Collaborate with strategic partners to respond to timely societal issues and research needs
  • Align courses and curriculum with future-ready employability
