Strategic plan priority D: Internal and external community engagement

The Faculty builds, maintains and sustains community partnerships to advance research and learning opportunities locally, regionally, nationally and globally.

Goal 1: Initiate cross-campus and external partnerships that go beyond disciplinary boundaries

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Develop infrastructure/spaces that foster creative engagement
  • Co-lead initiatives to encourage cross-campus partnerships in health

Goal 2: Be the voice for health on campus

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Explore a name change to the Faculty of Health to be more visible to external partners and other stakeholders, such as prospective students
  • Lead cross-campus health initiatives
  • Be a hub for bi-directional support of health education, research and wellness initiatives on campus

Goal 3: Integrate a culture of philanthropy that extends to faculty, staff, students and alumni

To achieve this goal, we will pursue these objectives:

  • Develop strategies for faculty, staff and student engagement
  • Increase faculty, staff, alumni/donor engagement and giving to support Faculty priorities
  • Engage students to help build a culture of philanthropy prior to graduation
  • Develop non-alumni (external community) strategies for giving, sponsoring and partnerships
