Math team GWNB wins second place in Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge
A total of 13,029 people in 2,520 teams from around the world participated, including 22 teams from the University of Waterloo.
Joshua Duho Kim named finalist at ETHGlobal Hackathon
Kim, a Computer Science student, was recognized for his solo development of an app that uses the Story blockchain protocol to mint IP licensing terms for digital content.
Max Bouthillier receives Rico Mariani 2SLGBTQ+ Graduate Award
The award is given annually to a graduate student in the Faculty of Mathematics who demonstrates academic excellence as well as involvement in activities that advance 2SLGBTQ+ initiatives and wellbeing on campus and in the larger community.

CS Escape Workshop
Designed for Grade 8 students attending school in Canada and belonging to gender identities underrepresented in computer science, the CS Escape workshop consists of a series of four sessions introducing students to computer science concepts. Students can apply between November 18 and December 2, 2024 and selected applicants will have to pay a $25 fee to attend.
