oin The Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Waterloo for a series of four 90-minute sessions to help you prepare to succeed in the Euclid Contest.
These sessions are aimed at students of grades 11 – 12 from all over the world who are interested in participating Euclid 2023 math contest scheduled to be held in April 2023 with a focus on problem-solving strategies and questions related to this content. We will have fun solving problems together and discussing possible approaches while providing recommendations for problems for you to work on after the sessions. Members of the Math Admissions team will be in attendance to answer your questions about scholarships and admissions.
These sessions are based on the eight modules given in the Preparation Materials for the CSMC and Euclid Contest including:

Session Hosts
Professor Shane Bauman:
In addition to teaching courses at the university, he runs problem-solving workshops with students and participates in the creation of mathematics contests which are written by more than 200 000 students all over the world. In the past few years, he has had the opportunity to run problem-solving workshops in Canada, China, India, Malaysia and Singapore.
Professor Bauman holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Education at Queen’s University. He then returned to Waterloo to complete a graduate degree in Combinatorics.
Professor Comfort Mintah:
She holds the distinction of being the first female who graduated from the University of Ghana with a specialty in Mathematical Physics after 65 years and is one of the first Ghanaian females to be working in the field of quantum computing.
Comfort holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Guelph, Canada, an MSc in Mathematical Sciences from the African Institute for MathematicalSciences(AIMS), and an MSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Guelph, Canada. Comfort obtained her BSc at the University of Ghana and graduated with a single major in Mathematics.
