Grad Peer Mentorship Program

Grad Peer Mentorship

Welcome to grad studies in the Faculty of Math! Starting a new graduate program can be both exciting and challenging, and having a supportive community can make all the difference. This program pairs new graduate students with current graduate students who will serve as mentors and help ease transition into the University of Waterloo's graduate community.

Why Join the Mentorship Program?

As a new graduate student, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Connect: Build a supportive relationship with a more experienced peer.

  • Learn: Gain insights into graduate life, academic expectations, and campus resources.

  • Navigate: Receive guidance on balancing coursework, research, and personal life.

  • Thrive: Feel welcomed and supported as you adjust to your new environment.

What Do Mentors Do?

Our mentors are current graduate students who volunteer to:

  • Share their experiences and advice about graduate life.

  • Provide information about resources, events, and services on campus.

  • Offer a friendly ear and encouragement throughout the term.

How Does It Work?

  • Application: Fill out the application form below to express your interest in the program.

  • Pairing: Based on your preferences and program details, we will match you with a mentor.
