Anita Layton, professor of Applied Mathematics and the Canada 150 Research Chair in Mathematical Biology and Medicine, is one of ten recipients of funding from the newly created Graham Seed Fund. The Graham Seed Fund, which was created last fall by the the University of Waterloo's Health Initiatives team, aims to strengthen the University's health system partnerships by providing resources for collaborating directly with a full range of health providers and clinicians.
Layton's project, "Clinical risk assessment tool for diabetic kidney disease in youth with type 2 diabetes," will see her partnering with the University of Toronto, University of Colorado, and NorthShore University Health System.
