TD Walter Bean Professorship in Environment

Tuesday, January 26, 2021 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EST (GMT -05:00)

Julian Agyeman Portrait
Julian Agyeman, a Professor of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University, is a powerful advocate for the integration of social justice and urban sustainability. In his talk, he will be outlining the concept of just sustainabilities as a response to the ‘equity deficit’ of much sustainability thinking and practice. He will illustrate his ideas with examples from urban planning and design, urban agriculture and food justice, the ‘Minneapolis Paradox’ and the concept of sharing cities.

The event will take place on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Students can register here on the Faculty of Environment's Event page. For those students who are unable to attend, Julian will be having virtual drop-in sessions throughout the academic year! Please stay tuned for more details on his virtual office hours in the coming weeks.
