Spatial Patterns of Freight and Logistics contribute to Calgary's Sprawl
Clarence Woudsma contributes to a recent article in "the sprawl", a worthwhile read about how consumerism is driving a warehouse boom in Calgary.
Dr. Woudsma has an extensive background and expertise in exploring how goods production, storage, and flow are integrated within our regions and cities. His recent published work on “freight sprawl” has taken on increased relevance given the acceleration of e-commerce during the pandemic and the additional forces disrupting global supply chains leading to the rise of “just in case” inventory practices among other business transformations. Students interested in exploring these topics further can register in PLAN 477 “Freight Planning and Policy” offered this coming Winter term.
