The School of Planning is pleased to congratulate Connor Rettinger for winning the World Town Planning Day social media contest. From November 6-9, the School of Planning, Planning Students’ Association, and the Association of Graduate Planners hosted a World Town Planning Day event series. Students were given until Sunday, November 8 at midnight to share a contest card to Instagram about their favourite courses and an environmental cause they care most about. Using a random draw, Connor was selected as one of two winners! Thank you, Connor, for your participation.
About Connor
Connor is a 4A Planning student specializing in Environmental Planning and Management. Connor has completed an exchange in Sydney, Australia studying Geography and Planning at Macquarie University during his 3A term. He has been part of many school organizations including the Planning Students’ Association (PSA) as an Events Director, chaired for the Waterloo Environment Student Endowment Fund (WESEF), and was part of the 2020 Waterloo Orientation Team (WOT) for the Faculty of Environment. He enjoys connecting with nature, hiking, and biking and has a strong passion for the environment.
Connor joined the Planning program for an opportunity to create healthier, transit-oriented, and sustainable communities. He is passionate for helping others and hopes to improve the ways cities work and function. Connor participated in World Town Planning Day with the mindset that planners can create the necessary changes to create resilient communities that can adapt to current crises such as the pandemic and climate change.
