Metrolinx is seeking candidates with a fresh perspective and creative transportation ideas from all fields of study!

The 2016 Rob MacIsaac Fellowship Program is looking for students with a keen interest in transportation innovation to participate in a unique study/work opportunity at Metrolinx from January to September 2016.

Fellows will benefit from undertaking research and working at Metrolinx under the guidance of a senior staff advisor, in addition to that of their academic supervisor. Following the initial four-month research term, Fellows transition into paid internships at Metrolinx, in a division that relates to their transportation interest.

The Fellowship provides an opportunity for students to delve further into an innovative transportation project of their choosing, and explore a career in a transportation-related field. Through this program, Metrolinx seeks enthusiastic students who will help Metrolinx fulfill its mission to champion, develop and implement an integrated transportation system for the Greater Toronto and  Hamilton Area (GTHA) that enhances prosperity, sustainability, and quality-of-life.

Applications from students in all fields of study are welcome (e.g., urban planning, engineering, information technology, public or business administration, marketing, law, communications, environmental science). Interested students should refer to the Metrolinx web site (www.metrolinx.com) to learn more about the organization, priorities and projects, and for details of the application process.

Metrolinx, an agency of the Province of Ontario, is committed to improving the coordination and integration of all modes of transportation across the GTHA. As an organization they strive to form strong and meaningful partnerships with academic institutions across the region. Through the 2016 Rob MacIsaac Fellowship, Metrolinx seeks to work closely with academic institutions to cultivate innovative student research in transportation, in honour of Metrolinx’s first Chair.
