Postdoctoral Fellow
Majid Hojati

Majid Hojati is currently a postdoctoral researcher collaborating with Dr. Rob Feick within the School of Planning. He earned his Ph.D. from the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, where his doctoral research was centered on the sharing and processing of large-scale distributed spatial data. During his Ph.D. studies, Majid delved into the dynamic realm of distributed spatial data, addressing critical issues related to privacy, access control, and retrieval in this domain.

His research interests encompass Geoinformatics and GIScience, web-based GIS, geographical data sharing, and the analysis of big geospatial datasets. In his postdoctoral research, Majid is concentrating on GeoAI, exploring the utilization of Large Language Models (LLMs) to gain insights into spatial relationships and patterns. This research entails an examination of LLMs' comprehension of spatial concepts and their ability to infer spatial patterns and relationships from geographic data.
