Dr. Brenda Lee has been awarded the inaugural Excellence in Teaching Award presented by the Science Society (SciSoc).

As a PhD candidate in Earth Sciences, Kevin B. White is focused on using stable isotopes as tools for improving the environmental monitoring and assessment of remediation strategies for arsenic as part of a national research program led by the Giant Mine Oversight Board.
Professor Michel Fich awarded Dunlap Award for Innovation in Astronomical Research Tools
This award recognizes Fich’s sustained and visionary leadership in developing and ensuring Canadian participation in groundbreaking infrared and mm-scale astronomical instrumentation.

Black holes are massive objects from which even light cannot escape -- so how can we "see" them? In this month's KPL astronomy talk, Lucy Pothier-Bogoslowski will discuss several observational techniques and properties of black holes that allow us to observe them and their impact on their environments from small to large scales.
