Being able to shape your data into a publication-quality figure can sometimes make or break whether your data are accepted or even understood properly. We’ll be examining how figures are created from raw data using existing peer-reviewed papers.

Being able to complete experiments efficiently and effectively requires not just scientific technical skills but project planning skills as well. We’ll be covering some basics on how to map out an experimental pipeline using a 5 week rotation student project as a framework.

You are invited to attend an interdisciplinary workshop to explore synergies among experts engaged in environmental research that encompasses measurements and modeling, along with scientists and engineers developing sensor technology. The environmental measurements include variables typically quantified to assess climate, air and water quality. The sensor technology is based on photonics and nanomaterials. The modeling covers the current status of regional and global scale models and research needs that could motivate new observations and lab experiments to improve the predictive power of environmental models.

The Department of Physics and Astronomy will host 115 girls (female, non-binary and trans) currently in Grades 7 and 8 for an online day of activities to engage in the exploration of physics.

Join Kate and Nicole online through March Break to help them recover science lab supplies borrowed (and then lost!) by Mr. Goose and King Warrior! Each day they will guide you through a new science discovery challenge for you to complete at home.
