The Student Success Office’s (SSO) international student services, intercultural skills training and study abroad team will move to the new International Experience Centre (IEC) in spring 2024.
The IEC is Waterloo’s hub for international support and experiences at Waterloo.
The IEC will be home to:
Free immigration consulting appointments
International Peer Community events
Exchange and study abroad services, including IC4E training
We’re moving these services to better support students and so you can access the resources you need, when you need them.
The new location is conveniently located on the first floor of Needles Hall, right across from The Centre.
We don’t have an exact date just yet, but we expect to open our doors sometime in the spring term.
The SSO isn’t going anywhere! We’ll continue to provide great resources, including:
Waterloo Ready and Orientation
Peer Success Coaching
SMART program
Community Leadership Certificate (formerly the Student Leadership Program)
Events and workshops
Volunteer and paid opportunities
We’ll post regular updates on this site, in the International Student Guide, the International Student Connection newsletter and through the UWaterlooLife Instagram account. We'll also have a new website for the IEC launch in the spring.
