Take Action this July 1

Wednesday, June 30, 2021

As a country, Canada came to being through colonial violence that displaced and stripped First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples’ of their cultures, languages, and families. The legacy of violence suffered, including residential schools, health care practices, the child welfare system, and many other systems, continue to impact generations of Indigenous Peoples.

This history and the ongoing impacts of colonialism are part of who Canada is, but we can each take action to know the truths, put pressure on political leaders to repair relations and broken systems, and take time to have important conversations within our own spaces and places.
