Title

Introduction to infinite dimensional port-Hamiltonian systems

Abstract

Many physical phenomena can be represented by a system governed by partial differential equations. Examples are the heating of a rod or the deflection of a vibrating string. In contrast to finite dimensional systems, these infinite dimensional systems have a state space on an infinite dimensional space and their solution is more like a distribution. In this talk an introduction to infinite dimensional linear port-Hamiltonian systems is given.
