Title

Optimal Sensor Location for Semi-linear Flexible Structures

Abstract

Theory of infinite dimensional dynamical systems has provided rigorous mathematical tools to deal with the optimal vibration control and estimation of flexible structures. In these systems, parameters are distributed over space, a question then arises as how to find the location for installing actuators and sensors that gives the best control and estimation performance. This would be the subject of my talk; I will therefore give an overview of the issue form its practical importance to its mathematical complexity. Afterwards, some semi-linear flexible structures will be introduced, and an interesting open problem will be discussed.
