Applied Math Undergraduate student wins Math Co-op Student of the Year Award

Melanie Chanona
Melanie Chanona, a fourth year student in the Mathematical Physics program, has been selected the Mathematics Co-op Student of the Year.  This award recognizes students who have made outstanding contributions to their employer, achieved academic excellence and have volunteer or community involvement. Melanie spent her work term doing research with Prof. Robert Mann of the Physics Department. The citation for Melanie's award notes that she won two prizes for student presentations at conferences, is a co-author on three papers that have been submitted for publication and has been involved in a variety of volunteer activities.
