Biography
Rob McLean is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, in the Arts and Business Program in the Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo. He teaches Entrepreneurship, Practical Business Skills, and Strategy and Program Integration. He joined the University of Waterloo in 2023.
As an instructor, Rob works to clarify complexity, guiding students through many opportunities to build fulfilling careers.
Rob began teaching University business courses in 2016 while managing a consultancy focused on strategic planning and brand development with technology, government, not-for-profit, agriculture, and agri-food organizations. Before 2009, Rob worked with various local, national, and global brands on strategic brand development, sales, and marketing management for Guinness, Sleeman Breweries, Grolsch PLC, and SABMiller.
Outside his professional life, he is an active parent, a perpetual home renovator, and a songwriter.
