- Bookmark the Important dates page and review at the beginning of every term to make sure you're aware of add/drop deadlines
- Review the Environment Ready Module in your courses on LEARN
- Review the Undergraduate Studies Academic Calendar to understand your degree requirements and keep track of your progress throughout your undergraduate studies
- Review the minors, options, diplomas and certificates on the Undergraduate Calendar for ideas on how to customize your degree and help you plan your electives (select different credential types on the "Undergraduate Credential Type" drop down bar)
- Whether you have a known or unknown disability/condition/illness, or if you're experiencing impacts from trauma, AccessAbility Services can help you develop your individualized academic accommodation plan for all components of your academic career
- Complete the Academic Integrity Module
- Utilize the Assignment Planner to help manage assignments and due dates
Student Experience
- Experience Orientation!
- Go to ENV study abroad and learn about exchange opportunities as an Environment undergraduate student
- Explore campus and find where your classes are. Visit the Campus map for guidance.
- Find and join any of the 200+ campus clubs offered by WUSA
- Attend your Environment Peer Mentor sessions during the first six weeks of lecture to build a home within the ENV community, learn about resources, and network with other first-year and upper-year students
Year 2
Academics
- Visit the Centre for Career Development to see what kinds of services they offer and prepare for your first Co-op term, if required
- Contact the faculty (international) exchange & undergraduate operations coordinator if you are interested in going on exchange. Self-Register in the Go Abroad Info Session on LEARN and begin your exchange application. Applications in second year will be for your 3A, 3B, or 4A term
- Attend the International Experience information session, scheduled for October 20, 2023 (information will be sent to your UW email)
- Look into credentials you can add to your degree as you think about courses you might want to take in the future (select different credential types on the "Undergraduate Credential Type" drop down bar)
- Look into an international co-op for your next work term
Student Experience
- Apply to be a Peer Mentor in the Environment Peer Mentor Program. Peer Mentor applications will be available every July
- Apply to be an Environment Orientation Leader. Orientation Leader applications will be available every May.
- Share your passion for the Faculty of Environment by becoming a Student Ambassador. Student Ambassador applications will be available every July
- Join the Environment Student Society or one of seven Environment student associations
- Look into the many Student Leader Opportunities offered by the SSO
Year 3
Academics
- Complete your 3B Checklist before your final year. Look for an email after your 3B term inviting you to submit a degree check to your academic advisor
- Attend a career workshop hosted by the Center for Career Development
- Book an initial career consult to explore career support and learn more about the next steps in your career planning
- Explore graduate studies programs at Waterloo and fill out the further education support form to connect with more resources when planning for graduate or professional school.
Student Experience
- Apply to be a Senior Mentor in the Environment Peer Mentor Program. Senior Peer Mentor Application will be available at the end of the winter term
- Apply to be an Orientation Team Captain or Coordinator. Orientation Coordinator and Captain applications will be available every February
- Share your passion for the Faculty of Environment by becoming a Student Ambassador. Student Ambassador applications will be available every May
- Join the Environment Student Society or one of seven Environment student associations
- Look into the many Student Leader Opportunities offered by the SSO
- Go on your exchange and share your story with faculty (international) exchange & undergraduate operations coordinator by requesting to participate in the experience survey upon your return
Year 4
Academics
- Get ready for convocation by visiting the Graduation and convocation page
- Submit your application to graduate form in your 4B term by the deadline
- Explore graduate studies programs at Waterloo and fill out the further education support form to connect with more resources when planning for graduate or professional school
- Apply to Waterloo’s graduate programs
Student Experience
- Nominate a valedictorian for spring convocation, or volunteer as a member of the valedictorian selection committee. Valedictorian nomination and valedictorian selection committee forms will be available every December. Look for an email invitation to submit the forms before your final term
- Join ENV Connect, the Faculty’s online mentorship and networking platform to meet hundreds of Environment alumni; ask questions, get advice and grow your professional network
