Contact North | Contact Nord has a mandate to support online learning by providing free access to equipment for Ontarians in need.
Here’s how their free service works:
- Thanks to funding from the Government of Ontario, laptops and Internet are available at no cost (no fees or deposit required)
- User must be an Ontario resident, enrolled in an online course and need a laptop and internet for their coursework
- Equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis
- Students provide Contact North | Contact Nord staff with personal and course/training information as part of a short application process
- They ship equipment at no cost within five business days of approval
- They provide free technical support for the laptop and internet
- They do not provide support for software applications
- Equipment must be returned in good working order
