You should consider taking part in Waterloo’s Riipen pilot project.  Riipen is a micro-experiential learning platform facilitating connections among students, educators, and industry partners such as local companies, community organizations, government agencies and Non-Government Organizations.

As of August 1, 2018, the Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) will be sharing our space on the second floor of EC3 on a temporary basis.  Plans for CTE’s new permanent location are under discussion and will be shared with the university community when they are finalized. Nominations are open for the Online Teaching Awards

The University of Waterloo’s Online Teaching Awards recognize teaching and course design excellence in fully online undergraduate- or graduate-level courses and programs. There are two awards:

  1. Award for Excellence in Online Course Design
  2. Award for Excellence in Online Teaching

Nominations for this year’s awards must be received by August 31, 2018. The Office of the Vice President, Academic will announce the award winners in late November.

Renison/Waterloo offers first online Arabic course in Canada

With help from the Centre for Extended Learning (CEL), Renison University College launched the first phase of its online Arabic language program, the first of its kind in Canada. It was only through the innovative use of technology that this highly interactive language program overcame the obstacles involved with teaching a language online that uses a non-Latin script.

eCampus Ontario extends call for OER Fellows

eCampus Ontario is inviting six Open Educational Resource (OER) Fellows to partner with them to conduct action research, celebrate their work through social media, and create and deliver webinars and workshops in Ontario.

Application deadline has been extended to Monday, November 6, 2017 at 5pm.
