Simple and Effective Online Teaching

Hosted by: Victoria Feth and James Skidmore
Wednesday April 8, 11am-12noon EDT

This webinar will have a University of Waterloo focus, but everyone is welcome. And not to worry - it will be recorded in case you can’t make it.

University of Waterloo's Dr. Jeff Nagge, in the School of Pharmacy and the Centre for Extended Learning partnered to create an online course, called MOAT (Management of Oral Anticoagulation Therapy), which includes an artificial intelligence (AI)-based tool provided by Ametros Learning to simulate real life clinic visits by patients.

We're very excited to introduce you to Agata Nowak, the winner of the 2019 J.D. Leslie Prize. The Prize represents outstanding achievement in an undergraduate degree earned primarily through online courses. This year’s winner is many things: new Canadian, wife, mother, full-time worker, housekeeper, gardener, half-marathon runner, weightlifter and now a University of Waterloo Graduate.

We are very happy to announce that April Philpotts will be joining us as our new Associate Director, Professional Development on August 22, 2019.

April has spent 22 years in the education and tech industries as a teacher, corporate training manager, and administrator, and is dedicated to helping individuals, companies and communities reach their potential.

A course created by Prof. Jeff Nagge from University of Waterloo School of Pharmacy and the Centre for Extended Learning (CEL) was recently recognized by the Canadian Association for University Continuing Education (CAUCE). Entitled Management of Oral Anticoagulation Therapy – Online (MOAT Online), the course received the Non-credit Programming under 48 hours award at the annual conference.
