Bernoulli Trials Results

Tuesday, March 14, 2017

The Bernoulli Trials Contest was held on Saturday, March 4th.

This is a recreational contest in which contestants are given a sequence of statements, and they must decide (or guess) whether the statements are true or false.

This year, contestants were being eliminated after their fourth incorrect answer.

The first, second, third and last place prizes consisted of 70, 50, 30 and 35 dollars (in recent years, a number of students have decided to deliberately give incorrect answers, so the prize for last place is not offered out of pity).

Congratulations to the three first place winners:

  • 1st: Daniel Spivak
  • 2nd: Shouzhen Gu
  • 3rd: Taras Kolomatski

and also to the last place winner, Zhengyu Gu.
