The University of Waterloo, in partnership with Hong Kong Polytechnic University, has launched the world’s first international hub for vision science.

The University of Waterloo is proud to honour the many accomplishments of our 2021 faculty of mathematics graduates and will mark this milestone with a virtual convocation ceremony on June 18, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. EDT.

• Graduates will hear from the University of Waterloo Chancellor, President, Provost and the Dean
• Degrees will be virtually conferred, and a presentation of graduate names will be showcased on-screen
• Special awards and honours will be presented
• The valedictorian will address the class of 2021

Graduands, family, friends and the University community are invited to attend our Spring 2021 convocation ceremony. Please RSVP in advance so you don't miss the celebration.

Congratulations, Class of 2020

Although we are separated by distance, we are still celebrating. We recognize the outstanding academic achievement and milestone of over 1,300 graduates.

If you have a PhD from Waterloo and are planning to attend the Joint Mathematics Meeting in Denver; Stephen M. Watt, Dean, Faculty of Mathematics, invites you to join him on Thursday, January 16 for a networking reception at the Colorado Convention Centre at the Hyatt Regency.

As part of Postdoc Appreciation Week (September 16th-20th), the Faculty of Mathematics is hosting an appreciation lunch on September 19^th in MC 5501 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The University of Waterloo is the first stop on the Canadian University Get Free Tour hosted by UN Women. The programming will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a campus rally to welcome the HeForShe tour bus and special guests. Join us for music, refreshments and HeForShe giveaways.

WHAT I WISH I KNEW THEN...

Hear from upper year students and first year instructors!

Female undergrad and grad students are invited with fellow students and professors.

Complimentary snacks will be provided.  We welcome math students who identify as women, or who are non-binary.

Waterloo Mathematics alumni living or working in the greater Toronto and surrounding area are invited to an after-work reception at the Wish offices in Toronto. Speakers include Wish CEO and Co-founder Peter Szulczewski (BMath '05), with campus updates from the University of Waterloo.

The David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science will be hosting the annual Cheriton Research Symposium in the Davis Centre.

This year’s symposium consists of presentations by Cheriton Faculty Fellows, Dan Brown and Urs Hengartner. The full schedule is available online.

Posters by David R. Cheriton Graduate Scholarship recipients will be on display in Davis Centre atrium from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
