WE'RE BACK! It's time to register for ski day! Alumni from the Faculties of Science and Engineering are once again invited to the beautiful Osler Bluff Ski Club in Collingwood for a fantastic day on the slopes. 

Thank you to alumnus Yeti Agnew, BSc ’75 for sponsoring this activity once more. We are so excited to be returning to Osler!

Six members of our very own Science and Business Advisory Council are returning to the University of Waterloo to share their career journeys with you! Join us on Friday, January 27th, 2023 from 2:00pm – 3:30pm EST in the SLC Black & Gold Room (SLC 2143) to hear from industry leaders that have leveraged their learnings from the Science and Business program to achieve their positions of success today. We are excited to host the following guests:

World Wetlands Day (WWD) marks the day when the Convention on Wetlands was adopted in 1971 in Ramsar, Iran.
Join us online or in person at Federation Hall for a distinguished lecture by Dr. Line Rochefort and a panel discussion from wetland expert panelists on the topic of Wetland Restoration, moderated by Dr. Rochefort.

Join us on October 28^th for an extravaganza of hands-on science discovery for school-age kids.

Waterloo Science alumni, join us and your fellow classmates for the annual Waterloo Science Alumni Ski Days - the event is now over two days for double the fun - at Osler Bluff Ski Club, a beautiful private resort near Collingwood. The Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Health and the Faculty of Engineering will be joining the outdoor fun so come to ski, snowboard or snowshoe with your fellow classmates and make it a memorable day on the hills to make the most of our beautiful Canadian winter.

As part of the Water Institute's WaterTalks lecture series, Dr. Patricia Chow-Fraser, Professor, Department of Biology, McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, will present: Déjà vu or Jamais vu?  Using a 20-y record to discern how coastal wetlands of eastern and northern Georgian Bay respond to climate-induced water-level disturbances.

This event is now sold out. Adults and teens are invited to learn about the upcoming total solar eclipse from some surprising perspectives. 

In conjunction with the annual meeting of the CSC, the Faculty of Science and the Department of Chemistry will be hosting a cocktail reception at the Delta Winnipeg and invite all science alumni in the area to attend.

In this presentation Professor Timothy Caulfield explores what the most recent evidence tells us about the nature and source of the current infodemic. He will also provide science-informed recommendations about how best to engage individuals and communities.
