How I get involved: At UW, I am the co-president of UW Healthcare Symposium, where we run workshops and networking events for students. I am also an upper year representative of the UW Neuroscience Association, where we run research panels, showcase career paths in neuroscience, and support students looking to learn more about neuroscience opportunities on campus. I also play intramural volleyball which is a great way to destress and meet new friends! Additionally, I have been a science orientation leader for incoming undergraduate students for the past 2 Septembers. I thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity, and I loved mentoring the new incoming science students at Waterloo! Getting involved at Waterloo is a great way to meet likeminded people, connect with professionals, and learn more about your passions and interests!
Why I love my program
I love my program because it allows me to discuss and learn more about topics that I am passionate about. I have always been interested in psychology as well as science, and this program allows for a perfect balance between those disciplines. I also love the fact that you are able to select your science electives after first year, so you can tailor your degree towards your interests. I also love how my program sets up a variety of career paths. You can truly go into anything you choose with this degree!
Why University of Waterloo?
There are a variety of reasons I chose UW. Firstly, it is renowned for their science programs. I remember going to science summer camps at UW almost every year of my childhood, and I loved them. My fantastic experiences on campus even as a kid really made me love Waterloo. Additionally, UW offers so much program flexibility, as well as job and volunteer opportunities to undergraduate students. These experiences are a great way for myself and others to explore their interests.
