As the human population increases and cities expand, there is an urgent need to protect food resources and maintain or enhance production - agriculture in the face of severe climate conditions. Strategies for mitigating the effects of climate change on agriculture are being developed in the Faculty of Science. There is also a particular focus on aquaculture and how this aquatic ecosystem responds to changing environmental conditions.
- Understanding how changing environmental conditions affect fish immune systems at the molecular level
- Investigating whether changing environmental conditions alter the virulence of viral infections of fish and/or the susceptibility of fish to viral infection
