Welcome to St. Paul's!

St. Paul's University College offers residence, academic courses, and learning opportunities to students at the University of Waterloo. We are affiliated with the University and are located on its main campus.

St. Paul's purpose is to support the University of Waterloo community by providing a unique learning environment that educates social innovators to shape a just and humane world.

University of Waterloo courses are taught at St. Paul's, including courses in International Development, the Master of Development Practice program, Indigenous studies, Human rights minor, Religious studies and Canadian studies.

The Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre is also located at St. Paul's.

GreenHouse is a social impact incubator that offers programs, opportunities and a community for students to develop problem solving skills, to form innovative ideas and make new forms of sustainable impact around social or environmental change.

Many Waterloo students – both undergraduate and graduate – choose to live at St. Paul's. Some come here for the community, some for the learning experience, and some to be part of special opportunities like the Environment Living Learning Community and the Women in Engineering Living Learning Community.

  1. June 8, 2021Message Regarding the Murders in London

We write to you today on behalf of the College to express our solidarity with all Muslim members of the St. Paul’s community. We condemn the recent murder of four members of a Muslim family in London and are appalled by the hatred and bigotry that engendered it. Those of us who live, work and study at St. Paul’s regard its diversity as one of its primary strengths.  We are pleased that our community includes many Muslim members and we want them to know that they have our full support in these difficult days.

We offer our sincere condolences to the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation, and all survivors of the residential school system, their families and the communities who have been harmed by these atrocities and continue to suffer their impact to this day.
