Temporary immigration measures for Sudanese nationals in Canada

UPDATE: The immigration measures for Sudanese temporary residents in Canada have been extended until October 27, 2024 and this article has been updated to reflect the change.

 

On April 24, 2023, IRCC announced new immigration measures to support Sudanese temporary residents who are currently in Canada and may be unable to return home due to the rapidly deteriorating situation in their country.   

The current temporary measures came into effect on April 30, 2023, and have been extended until October 27, 2024.

Temporary immigration measures for Moroccan Nationals in Canada

On September 8, 2023, a powerful earthquake struck Morocco causing widespread destruction. Thousands have died or have been left homeless. Recently, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced temporary special measures to support nationals of Morocco in Canada. These special measures started on October 19, 2023 and will end on March 12, 2024.

The Student Success Office will be closed on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a staff meeting. The office will be open from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Temporary immigration measures for Syrian and Turkish nationals in Canada

UPDATE: The special measures have been extended until January 3, 2024 and the article below has been updated to reflect this new information.
 

On February 6, 2023, Türkiye and Syria suffered devastating earthquakes that killed thousands and damaged vital infrastructure. Canada offered humanitarian assistance to the survivors, who faced freezing temperatures and more tremors that hampered rescue efforts.
