To address varying needs within each school, three different horizontal and vertical logo lockups are available. When promoting a single school, one of the respective University of Waterloo school logo formats can be used.
Standard horizontal school lockup (preferred)
Standard vertical school lockup
Horizontal school lockup with faculty
Vertical school lockup with faculty
Horizontal school lockup with program/unit
Vertical school lockup with program/unit
Usage
Use a school logo:
- if you are promoting a single Waterloo school.
- if you or your group officially represent a school at the University.
Do not use a school logo:
- when you are promoting more than one Waterloo school. When your communication represents multiple schools from a single faculty, the faculty logo can be used. When your communication represents multiple schools from more than one faculty, the official University logo can be used.
- if you are an unofficial individual or group.
- if you are an individual or group unassociated with the University.
Guiding principles
- Use the simplest version of your logo. Communicate only the information necessary to achieve goals specific to your audience.
- Whether or not you include the faculty in your logo is dependent on your audience and how formal you want to be perceived.
- Logos with a program/unit do not include the faculty because they are only used to target an audience that is already familiar with the department's affiliations.
