The Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) announced last week that our own Kate Lawson is a recipient of this year's OCUFA Service Award. You may know Kate as Chair of the English Language & Literature department – or as the very capable chair of FAUW’s general meetings.
“The OCUFA Service Award was established to honour individuals who have done, or continue to do, exceptional work on behalf of OCUFA and its member faculty associations,” said Judy Bates, President of OCUFA. “The recipients of this award have time and time again gone above the call of duty and provided tireless service to their colleagues at home and across the province."
On behalf of the Board, FAUW President Sally Gunz expressed how honoured FAUW is to have Kate receive this award: "Our relationship with OCUFA is very important and Kate's work for OCUFA has been exceptional. Thanks Kate for all you do for OCUFA and FAUW. We are delighted to see you receive this award."
FAUW is a member of OCUFA, which represents 17,000 faculty and academic librarians in 28 faculty associations across Ontario.
